Introduction
Rushmere Campsite is a small family run farm site, occupying approximately 3 acres of the farm. The farm is situated between the A4136 (main arterial road to The Forest of Dean) and the B4228 (Grid reference 5611), half a mile west of Coleford with all local facilities.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
The farm is approached off a side road which joins the two main roads. Access is easy for the largest vehicles. The drive is tarmac, leading right up to the campsite and car can be parked adjacent to your tent or caravan. There is plenty of room to spare.
Reception
Reception is at the main house at the end of the drive. Ring on the door bell for a member of the family. If no-one is immediately, please find a pitch and see us later.
Public Areas
All Campers are restricted to the camping field unless other permission has been given. This is a farm with horses and machinery and care should be taken at all times.
Public Area – WC
There are 7 showers and 7 toilets divided between ladies and gents. We try to keep them clean at all times and have received compliments about our new shower block. Paper towels, hand wash, toilet paper and bins are provided. Stocks are replenished frequently and bins are also emptied frequently.
A large family shower has been created by the main house with easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Adequate handrails are provided for the shower and toilet area. Non-slip safety flooring as in all the showers.
There is a facility for waste water disposal.
All water in the camping fields is drinking water.
Eating Out
There are many pubs, restaurants, takeaways and cafes in and around the town of Coleford. Many of them have provided menus and leaflets. Please ask for the latest information.
Campers tell us Coleford has one of the best Fish and Chip shops in the South West!
Laundry Facilities
There is a reasonable priced laundry in Pyart Court shopping area in the town of Coleford.
Dishwashing Facilities
A sink with hot and cold water is adjacent to the showers. .
Shops
Shops and Supermarkets are situated in the town of Coleford (Tesco Minimart is open from 6am until 10pm and a new privately owned Harry Tuffins is open from 8am until 8pm. Coleford also boasts a large Co-op in the centre of town). There is a nearby filling station along the A4136 which also has a shop.
Treatment Rooms
Medical facilities are listed on the site and the local hospital in Lydney has a 24 hour Casualty Service.
Leisure Facilities
A swimming pool is available at the local leisure centre, one mile away at Five Acres. There is an open air swimming pool at Lydney, two high profile golf course and a Driving Range nearby.
Coarse fishing and fly fishing are both available nearby.
Outdoor Facilities
The farm is adjacent to High Meadow Woods and we have the best walking/hiking in the area. The River Wye and Symonds Yat is 2.5 miles through the woods. Cycling, Rock Climbing, Canoeing, Caving and Horse Riding are available – please ask for further details.
Attractions etc
There are several places of interest in The Royal Forest of Dean – please ask for leaflet. The local Tourist Information Centre is situated at the Beechenhurst picnic area near The Speech House Hotel.
